A Bucks Co. Firefighter 1 is tentatively scheduled to start in mid-Spetember @ Sta 31 (Fairless Hills). The class will be on Tue. & Thu. evenings, and all day Sundays. The majority of the Sunday classes will be at the fireschool in Doylestown. I'll add another post with the specific times, dates, and course number once this class is confirmed. Kevin, C31

Fighting Fires in Residential Buildings, by Traditions Training in Downingtown, PA

The Downingtown Fire Dept. will host the staff of Traditions Training who will be presenting the "Fighting Fires in Residential Buildings" curriculum on Saturday, January 17, 2009 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) in Downingtown, PA (located just 30 minutes from Philadelphia).

This 8-hour interactive discussion will focus on operations and tactics at one of our most common incidents: fire in the detached residential structure. We will approach things with our typical real-world, street-smart perspective and apply universal principals that are fireground proven. The class is very multimedia rich and includes critique and discussion of multiple real fire incidents.

We will look at a variety of issues from three perspectives: the firefighter, the company officer, the chief officer. Take advantage of the diverse and unique perspectives of the class' instructors:
- Ricky Riley, Division Chief, Clearwater (FL) & Past Chief, Kentland VFD
- Nick Martin, Firefighter with DCFD Engine 11
- Doug Mitchell, FDNY Lieutenant assigned to the Bronx's 7th Division
- Dan Shaw, Captain of Engine 409, Fairfax County Fire/Rescue.

Levittown #1 is hosting a safety and survival class two sunday's in the month of march. March 9th and the 30th The classes will start at 8am both days. Lecture will be on Sunday the 9th at station 32 and the practical portion will be held on the 30th at Mercer county fire School. The Penn Wynne Fire Company in conjunction with the Montgomery County Fire Academy, will be hosting a Hazardous Materials Technician class. This course will be instructed by the Montgomery County Fire Academy and held at the Penn Wynne Fire Company (1440 Manoa Rd, Wynnewood, PA) in Lower Merion Township.

Upon successful completion of the national test, students will receive a Hazardous Materials Technician certificate from the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board).

To All TF Members:

Attached is the BCTRTF 2007 Winter/Spring Training Schedule. The schedule lists training dates that we have received by Participating Agencies and from the TF, as of today's date. It does not reflect the entire years training schedule. Additional training dates will be posted and emailed to you. All training that is listed is open to all TF members! TF POC's, please make sure you promptly post this training schedule on your departments training bulletin board!

Important Reminder! It is a requirement that all members participate in TF training! In addition, it is now required that all members complete a refresher training program in Confined Space Rescue, Trench Rescue and Structural Collapse Rescue. You will see two separate training dates listed for refresher training on these rescue disciples that are listed for the spring and fall 2007. You do not have to complete the entire refresher in one weekend. ( Example, If you choice, you can attend the Confined Space/Trench Refresher in the spring and the Structural Collapse Refresher in the Fall.) You should make all attempts to make a scheduled refresher training. We also realize that members do attend other rescue training programs conducted in the county, state and across the country, which may meet the refresher training criteria set by the TF. If you are not sure if a specific training program that you wish to attend or already have attended, meets the refresher training criteria set by the TF, please contact TF Leader Kurt Braunle for approval.

The TF has made many efforts to provide you with the training and refresher training necessary to maintain the required skill knowledge and the advancement to Technician level set by the TF and NFPA 1670 standards. If you believe you will not be able to maintain your level of training required by the TF, you need to notify your POC or the TF Leadership.

If you have any addition training that would benefit the TF and TF members, please submit them to us at kurt@startrescue.com and we will post them for you!

Burlington County IAFF Local 3091 is hosting this seminar on March 31, 2007, 0900hrs to 1700hrs at the Rutgers Eco Complex located at 1200 Florence-Colunbus Road in Bordentown, NJ. An interactive course to heighten your awareness of the hazards associated with emergencies involving electric, gas, oil burners, carbon monoxide and odors of smoke. Instructors are Battalion Chief Frank Montagna (FDNY) a 37 year veteran assigned to the fire academy and Captain Al Hagan (FDNY) a 33 year veteran assigned to Ladder 43 in Harlem.
